In Color Studios filmed the Blue Man Group drumming video at its Las Vegas studio, providing concept development, art direction, set construction, lighting design, production crew, and post-production. Ed Gregory directed the project.
Concept and Art Direction
The creative team used Aputure INFINIBAR fixtures to build a portal-like lighting effect for the performers. Different shutter settings altered the appearance of the live paint, while the black background allowed selected frames and movements to be layered during post-production.
Full-Service Music Video Production
The project brought together concept development, set building, lighting, camera, crew, and post-production within a single production workflow. This coordinated approach allowed the team to refine the visual effects on set and carry them consistently into the final edit.
Las Vegas Soundstage
The video was filmed on the In Color Studios Las Vegas soundstage, providing the controlled environment needed for the lighting design, live paint, and black-background photography.
