Goo Goo Dolls - Miracle Pill

Goo Goo Dolls “Miracle Pill” Music Video

In Color Studios produced the Goo Goo Dolls’ “Miracle Pill” music video in collaboration with the band. Creative director Ed Gregory developed the concept, and the production included set design, wardrobe, soundstage coordination, props, camera, art department, and post-production.

Concept and Set Design

The team built a complete white set on a Los Angeles soundstage. Designed as a clean laboratory environment, the set supported the song’s theme of experimentation and the search for a “miracle pill.” The art department coordinated the set, props, and visual details around that concept.

Practical Effects

Live paint poured down the walls during filming, creating a wet and changing environment. Confetti was released with large fans to add motion throughout the set while preserving the controlled, laboratory-inspired look.

Camera and Lighting

The camera department filmed with a RED 8K camera to capture the detail of the set and practical effects. The lighting team shaped the clean white environment while maintaining contrast and energy during the band’s performance.

Wardrobe and Performance

The wardrobe department developed an authentic, casual look that complemented the band and the song. The performance scenes combined the Goo Goo Dolls with actors portraying laboratory roles.

Post-Production

Editing, visual effects, color, and sound design brought the recorded elements together into a cohesive music video that retained the project’s practical set and performance-driven approach.

Wardrobe and Post-Production

Wardrobe reinforced the band’s casual performance style, while the laboratory actors supported the visual concept. After filming, editorial, visual effects, color, and sound design integrated the performance, practical effects, and set details into the final video.

Coordinating a Large Production

The “Miracle Pill” video required collaboration across creative direction, set design, art department, wardrobe, camera, lighting, practical effects, and post-production. Coordinating those departments around one concept kept the visual language consistent from the soundstage through the final edit.
