Filming a Three-Minute Residency Film for USHER at Caesars Palace

In Color Studios produced a three-minute film for USHER’s residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The piece was created for the large video wall used during the live show and required location work, an overnight production schedule, and an 8K capture workflow.

Location Scouting and Crew

The team scouted a desert location outside Las Vegas that could support the visual direction of the music video. Production then coordinated the crew, including camera, lighting, grip, styling, hair and makeup, art department, and production management.

8K Production and Data Management

The production used high-resolution cameras, lighting, and rigging to capture the planned shots in 8K. A digital imaging technician managed camera settings, media, and data transfer throughout the shoot to support an efficient post-production workflow.

Set Design and Line Production

The art department developed a set that complemented the location, music, and performance. Line production coordinated the schedule, departments, and on-set logistics so the team could move through the shot list during the overnight production.

Overnight Filming

The shoot ran for 18 hours through the night. Careful scheduling and coordination helped the crew maintain continuity while completing the required setups before sunrise.

Delivery

The completed three-minute film combined location production, set design, 8K cinematography, data management, and post-production for playback within USHER’s Las Vegas residency.
