Rev Bar - Bar Menu
In Color Studios produced an incredibly dynamic menu commercial for Rev Bar that celebrates the craft and color of their signature drinks. From concept to final finish, the project was a full-production endeavor: creative development, live-action studio shoot, multi-camera capture, precision lighting design, bespoke set build, food styling, complex robotic cinematography, and targeted post-production. Our aim was to deliver a spot that felt both handcrafted and cinematic — an inviting visual menu that communicates flavor, texture, and personality in every frame.
Pre-production focused on translating the menu’s tone into a visual language. We designed a modular set centered on a lush display of fresh fruit and greenery, custom-built to frame each drink as a staged centerpiece. The set’s layers, textures, and practical elements were engineered for both close-up pour work and wider performance moments, enabling seamless transitions between hero shots and establishing plates. A specialist food stylist orchestrated every garnish, foam, and pour so that each drink read as irresistible on-camera while holding up to repeat takes.
On shoot day we deployed a multi-camera setup to capture simultaneous angles: tight macro lenses for droplets and texture, prime lenses for shallow depth and pop, and longer glass for controlled compression on garnishes. Lighting was crafted to enhance translucency and color—carefully positioned key sources, soft fills, and practical accents created highlights in the liquids and dimensional shadows on the set. The lighting design prioritized controllable highlights to emphasize carbonation, condensation, and layered ingredients.
A pivotal technical advantage was our use of the CineBot Max from MMRC. This Robin-arm robotic rig brought surgical repeatability and speed to the production. The concept required live drink builds and instantaneous replacements within continuous moves; CineBot Max allowed us to replicate camera paths to the millimeter across multiple takes. That repeatability made match-cuts and insert swaps seamless, and it enabled choreographed timing between camera, talent, and the food stylist’s pours. Complex sequences—liquid layering, simultaneous garnishing, and staged substitutions—were executed with confidence because the robot ensured identical motion for each pass.
At In Color Studios we believe in thoughtful integration of AI into video production when it enhances and blends naturally with live action. For Rev Bar, we used AI to ideate and refine scene composition during pre-production, generating moodboards and scene treatments that accelerated creative decisions. We also applied AI to establish the initial dolly-in camera move: an AI-assisted simulation produced a fluid, cinematic trajectory which the CineBot Max then executed precisely on set. This hybrid workflow preserved the tactile authenticity of live craft while benefiting from AI’s speed and predictive framing.
Post-production tied everything together with color grading that amplified the vibrant palette of fruits and drinks, and precise edit work that maintained rhythm across hero and short-form cuts. The final commercial balances technical ambition with artisanal detail—an energetic, mouthwatering menu spot that feels as delightful to watch as the drinks are to taste.
